I JUST got home from lunch at Hwang Hae Doh, and wowzaroonie! Being the Korean BBQ / food snob that I am, I was VERY impressed by this place. You walk in and you feel like you're in a clean K-town restaurant complete with wooden tables and that old skool Korean/Chinese letter wall paper.
I ordered the $9.98 all you can eat option which includes THREE types of meat: pork belly, chadol, and another beef variety (round, red, delicious and less fatty).
Hwang Hae Doh also offers 3 other meat combinations at prices ranging from $16.98 to $18.98. These higher end combos feature more meats (ribs, bulgogi, etc.) and include the den jang jjigae (spicy soy bean stew) and neng myun (cold buckwheat noodles) at the end of the meal.
The quality of meat was GREAT. I was very impressed by the freshness and cleanliness of the fare. Speaking of fresh, the banchan (side dishes) were simple yet phenomenal as well. The kimchi and potato salad were my favorites. They even bring out the gae lan jolim (poached egg) and spicy dejji galbi in those black dol sot cauldrons. DELICIOUS!
The service is great, too. The original hostess ajumma was kind of dismissive, but the other lady was very sweet and thoughtful. Of all the recent $9.99 all you can eat K BBQ places I've recently discovered in my area, I'd say that Hwang Hae Doh is definitely the BEST.
