OK, while I admit that I do not like Thai food, I can fairly judge the freshness, cleanliness, and palatability of any cuisine. That said, Thai BBQ Restaurant was a raging disaster.
My review of the food (if you can call it that):
1. Yellow chicken curry: good, but oily as heck. You'll get your recommended supply of lard for the week from a bowl of this hot mess.
2. Mint chicken: my friend says the chicken meat is supposed to be ground. What we got were pathetic wormy strips of leftover dark meat drenched in a minty sauce that was neither refreshing nor light. I've never eaten chicken in cockroach juice, but I imagine this would be a fair description.
3. Tom Yum: this used to be my favorite item off the menu. Over the years, I guess the management got stingy and decided to skimp on the chicken, lemongrass, cilantro...all the material goodness that swam in this broth. Sad.
4. Beef salad. This was garbage on a plate. The beef was overcooked and rubbery. The seasoning was salty and lacked character. Three pieces in, I decided that I could no longer tolerate eating what resembled a cheap leather sole from an old LA Gear sneaker.
5. Rice: It's one thing that Thai places charge extra for the rice. It's quite another when you're paying for a bowl of old, dry, hard, and cheap, 2-day old rice.
Catch my drift? Skip this place if you value your health. BTW, my dining companion had violent diarrhea that evening, and I had a vicious 3-hour stomachache the morning after.
